A message from the Board President:
The Michigan Bach Collegium has a new name. But we still exist to bring music from antiquity to full resonant life. The singers and instrumentalists of Early Music Michigan (EMM) delight in sharing the sublime beauty of this unique repertoire with you. We feel it’s like sharing new found treasure with dear friends.
Early Music Michigan believes that you should be able to experience the amazing power of the human voice, accompanied by re-creations of early music instruments, in performances that are high in quality, rich in entertainment.
This creative endeavor does come at some expense. But we have good news. EMM has received a generous challenge from the Irving S. Gilmore Foundation. They have provided us with a $5000 challenge grant. That means that if you donate today, you will really be doubling your gift. Every $50 becomes $100, every $100 becomes $200. If we can reach $5000, the Gilmore Foundation match will bring the total to $10,000 of much need funds.
Matching donations can come from both first-time donors and any increase in contributions from our last year’s loyal donors. Those of you who are willing to increase the amount of your donation will know that this gift will be matched. And a full 96% of your contribution directly supports local musicians and businesses.
Won’t you please help us if you can? And please invite your friends to join you in helping make beautiful music something you can share together. Just give them a copy of our newsletter and envelope. Encourage others to experience with you the musical genius of these early composers.
